Las l\u00edneas de investigaci\u00f3n que ha desarrollado han estado vinculadas con la resoluci\u00f3n de problemas, el pensamiento funcional en ni\u00f1os y el uso de recursos tecnol\u00f3gicos en la clase de matem\u00e1tica.<br \/>Es cofundador de la REDUMATE (Red de Educaci\u00f3n Matem\u00e1tica de Am\u00e9rica Central y El Caribe), actualmente es el Director de dicha red. Es coautor del curr\u00edculo de matem\u00e1ticas de la Educaci\u00f3n Primaria y Secundaria de Costa Rica.
